Therapist and Headteacher Carol Hargreaves and support assistant Lauren Evans have extensive experience managing groups of students with extreme difficulties. Every session throughout the day will be carefully managed so that all students are fully supported and enabled to participate in the best way possible for them. Students of the anger management, self-esteem and exam nerves courses will be given a small handbook to take away with them and an individual achievement certificate will be awarded on completion of the day.
Anger Management Group: A one-day course for up to four students who are experiencing anger management difficulties, getting angry and upset at school, and who may be at risk of exclusion . Students will learn how to identify their own triggers, to manage their responses and will be taught techniques that will help them to make significant changes in their own behaviour.
Self esteem Group: A one-day course for up to eight students struggling with low self-esteem. Students will learn through practical activities, demonstrations and supported discussions how to accept praise and how to put unfair criticism and bullying to one side. They will develop a sense of what their body language conveys to others and build up a strong sense of self esteem that will enable them to feel happier about themselves, have friends, learn more effectively and get more out of school.
Exam nerves Group: A one day course for a group of up to eight students who are at risk of underachievement in their external exams because of anxiety. Participants will learn how to set themselves up for success, manage the psychological and physical effects of anxiety effectively and achieve their best performance at just the right time.

It is also possible to offer an alternative venue with lunch provided. This option would carry additional costs including transport, venue hire and catering but does add a great deal of value to the day.
